FLoT. Terms and Conditions.

A few housekeeping rules… on personal safety:

Should evidence of infestation be found, the session will cease until professional pest control services have been instructed.

Before a session is undertaken, you (the client) agree to disclose the names and details of any partners/ children/ dependents/ pets/ anyone else residing in the property and/or who may share your belongings.

My partner will always know my whereabouts and the timings of each session for the purpose of health and safety in the case of lone working. This information will not be shared with anyone else unless for the purpose of our safety and will not be saved after our sessions.

… On your belongings:

All items removed from your premises or disposed of will be with your agreement and at your discretion. You are responsible for all items disposed of in the decluttering process.

All advice given by FLoT is given in good faith. We cannot accept responsibility for any subsequent decisions taken by you either during or after a session.

FLoT is unable to offer any valuation services but will be happy to help find contacts who can.

Although I have received training in handling fragile objects, I will not accept liability for any loss or damage, however caused, during the course of providing the service. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have suitable and appropriate home insurance.

… On other services:

FLoT may offer advice on additional services. For example, DIY services, removal companies, local joiners but is not liable for their fees, work, or responsible for their performance. Any contractual agreements and payments will be made directly between you and the supplier.

The FLoT website may contain links to other websites of interest but takes no responsibility for the protection of information you provide whilst visiting these sites. Such sites are not governed by these terms and conditions.

… On confidentiality:

All information and conversations are kept completely confidential. The only circumstances in which your information will be shared is:

- If there are concerns you may harm yourself or anyone else.

- There is evidence of a vulnerable person at risk of harm.

We may collect the following sensitive data about you in order to deliver services specifically tailored to your needs. This information is always optional and may include:

- Any relevant physical/ mental health issues

- Any relevant religious/ cultural information relating to beliefs about your belongings

- The name and details of partners/ children/ dependents or pets in the property.

FLoT is a member of the ICO (Information Commissioners Office) and adheres to all data protection and privacy guidance under the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulations).

I will request your consent to take before/after photos during our sessions for the purpose of marketing and helping to explain the decluttering process to potential clients. I will endeavour to omit any personal references in any images that may reveal your identity or any other sensitive information. I have a separate consent form for this purpose which you can choose not to sign if you prefer.

… On charges and payments:

There is no charge for your initial 30min consultation (phone or in person)

Bank transfer is the preferred payment method, however cash is also an acceptable payment method

I will email my invoice within the following days of our session

Full payment is required within 7 working days of the receipt of the invoice

Whilst a booking is based on a pre-agreed estimated period of time, it is not always possible to predict exactly how long a specific assignment will take.  It may be necessary to book additional hours in order to finish a job and this will be agreed between you and I as and when required.

FLoT rates are £40 p/hr (bookings are generally minimum two-hour sessions)

AND/OR

£32 p/hr (virtual session, chargeable in 15min online chunks)

All fees include my travel.

There will be no hidden costs.

… on cancellation:

Please note that we all find ourselves in exceptional or unavoidable circumstances from time to time and we understand that you may have to cancel. We would be really grateful and urge you to try to give us 48 hours’ notice where possible. This allows us to make other arrangements.

… on insurance:

For the Love of Things is covered by Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance to a value of £1 million. Insurance Terms are available on request.

… on Covid-19:

Before commencing work, you (the client) and I (Professional Organiser) will follow government recommendations and take preventative measures.
